This client lives in a period house near St Andrews. They first asked me to design handmade London blinds for their master bedroom which would have a soft yet unfussy look.
It was important that the design allowed easy access to the windows’ working wooden shutters.
First, I shared design ideas and inspiration with them via Pinterest. I also provided a sample mock-up so that they could see how the proposed window treatment could look.
In the end, we agreed on handmade London blinds in a beautiful Colefax & Fowler linen fabric with braid trimming as well as piping on the edges of the pleats.
The client was thrilled with the blinds and we decided to replicate this style of window treatment across all of the windows on the first floor of the house to give a harmonious look.
We selected a delicately embroidered silk by James Hare for the blinds in the guest bedroom. For the upstairs landing, we chose a handmade London blind in a beautiful linen from Chelsea Textiles.
And even the master en-suite has its own bespoke blind to complement the traditional slipper bathtub.
