Wonder what to expect when working with me? Read on to find out more about how I work and what services I offer as a professional curtainmaker in Fife, Edinburgh, Perthshire and Tayside.

Your bespoke design service
From choosing the fabric and measuring your windows to the sourcing, making and fitting of your new bespoke blinds and curtains, you have my full support from start to finish!
Benefit from my expertise in curtainmaking and interior design. And, of course, enjoy the peace of mind of knowing your project’s aesthetic and practical aspects are in expert hands.
Good things take time
The average timeframe for curtainmaking projects is two to three months from the first meeting to hanging the finished curtains or blinds.
Please note that the timescales also depend on the scope of the project and the availability of fabrics and other materials.
Here’s what you can expect:

1. Let’s have a chat on the phone
Whether you’re looking for bespoke curtains and blinds or want to update your home décor, let’s have a chat and see how I can help. To get an idea of the space you’d like my help with, having a few photos and rough measurements ready can be a big help. Based on those, I should also be able to give you a rough idea of the costs.

2. First meeting
If you’re interested in finding out more, we will arrange a meeting in person next. This way, we can discuss the style and fabrics you’re looking for and other elements of the project. And we can use the opportunity to take all necessary measurements as well. I charge a fee of £75 for our First Meeting to cover my time and mileage costs.

3. Design phase
Having a better idea of what you’re looking for, this is the stage where we look at samples and dive into the world of colours, patterns and fabrics. Once we have finalised the specifics of your project, you will receive a detailed quote for my work. This will cover everything from sourcing the materials to making and fitting the finished curtains, blinds and accessories.

4. Making
After receiving your deposit payment, your project gets booked into the next available time slot in my calendar. At this point, I will also order all the fabrics, tracks, poles and any accessories we need. And the next step is all about creating your hand-sewn, bespoke window treatments, accessories and soft furnishings in my workroom.

5. Fitting
Once the work is underway, we will get appointments with my professional curtain fitter in the diary to install any curtain poles or tracks we need. We will also take care of fitting and hanging your finished curtains, blinds and interior accessories. Your final payment is due on delivery.
