After providing bespoke sitting room cushions to this client, she really liked the idea of achieving an updated interior design but simply adding and changing little details in every room.

She was so happy with my work that she asked me back several times for different projects. Here’s an overview of how I helped her refresh her home decor with handmade window treatments, soft furnishings & interior accessories.

A child’s bedroom

Most recently, she asked me to make new handmade curtains, a lampshade and cushions for her preteen daughter’s bedroom so that the decor was more grown up.

We selected an embroidered linen fabric in a contemporary grey and pink colourway. We also added a gathered heading and pompoms to the curtains for a relaxed, informal look.

A refreshed kitchen

Having had her kitchen redone recently, the client was also looking for a roman blind for her kitchen window.

We chose an orange geometric print to complement the new splashbacks. I also had the fabric treated with stain repellent to help keep cooking odours and spots at bay.

A guest bedroom

Additionally, she asked me to make a roman blind to cheer up the guest bedroom decor. But it was important to her that the new window treatment ties in with the existing colour scheme.

A cloakroom

And in her cloakroom, we added a smart padded pelmet with a coordinating mock roman blind. This replaced the outdated swag left by the previous owners when they moved out.

What the client says

Catherine has a great eye for colour and the fabrics she’s selected for us are wonderful without being overwhelming.
